As part of your job as a ship painter and varnisher, you will implement everything that is important for the job of a ship painter and varnisher at SCHIFFSWERFT BARTH: You will put the finishing touches on the ships and make them shine again. Your work is the flagship of the shipyard, as this is the final touch on our repair work. Together, we want to create something that lasts.
HERE'S WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING ON BOARD- a good professional qualification as a painter/varnisher (if possible corrosion protection)
- Enjoyment of manual work with colleagues
- Enjoyment of working on ships (free from fear of heights)

As part of your training as a shipbuilding plant mechanic, you will learn everything that is important for the operation and service on/on a ship on the SCHIFFSERFT BARTH. You manufacture metal constructions, pipe constructions, repair all equipment and systems that are installed on a ship. You will learn how to use different tools and materials and also how to operate the various welding systems. And you'll learn how to make complicated components and how to read and implement ship drawings – so you can create great things with us. Whether it's diesel engines, pipe systems or superstructures of all kinds – our plant mechanics know their stuff: they put machines, plants and systems into operation, repair, hand over and test them.

Anyone who is trained as an industrial mechanic in mechanical and plant engineering (m/f/d) at SCHIFFSWERFT BARTH dedicates themselves to the heart of the ship, the machine, over the course of their apprenticeship. Whether it's diesel engines or gas turbines – our engine fitters know their stuff: they put machines, plants and systems into operation, repair, hand over and test them – on board or on assembly construction sites. They often work together with other employees and our (international) customers. Therefore, it would be advantageous if they could be used if necessary.
